Legal Secretary (Probate) Full Time

 
Our client is at the forefront of the legal profession, committed to providing an outstanding quality of 
service to private and corporate clients alike. Due to expansion an excellent opportunity has arisen 
for a Legal Secretary (Probate) to join their Barton team. 
 
The role: 
∙Ensuring the smooth flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the 
department 
∙Word processing all necessary documents from hand-written notes or transcribing 
recorded dictation 
∙Scanning, emailing and faxing correspondence and documents 
∙File management 
∙Opening and closing files, photocopying and filing 
∙Answering the telephone, handling calls, making routing calls and taking messages 
∙Covering reception duties as and when required 
∙Managing Fee Earner diaries, organising internal and external meetings 
∙Supporting other members of the team in the performance of their duties 
∙Providing support to other members of staff in the department or across the firm 
∙Liaising with clients and client care 
∙Dealing with email and telephone correspondence 
 
The Candidate: 
∙A team player, who is supportive and encouraging of others 
∙Enthusiastic and confident in secretarial work 
∙Previous experience working in a legal, private client department/wills & probate is 
desirable but not essential 
∙You will need to be able to manage large workloads effectively and be productive under 
pressure 
∙Experience in audio and copy typing is advantageous 
∙Experience of use of IT systems; digital dictation, case management, MS Word and 
Outlook 
∙Ability to work with initiative and minimum supervision 
∙Integrity to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately 
∙Excellent organisational skills ability to prioritise
